One possibility if you’re looking for all three, however, is hummus. What is hummus? Hummus is a spread for sandwiches or a dip for veggies, pitas, and other foods that is made from chickpeas and tahini, or sesame paste. Hummus is known for its versatility and can be easily incorporated into a many different recipes. It also helps provide protein, especially for those with vegetarian or vegan diets, and is generally low in calories.

While plain hummus can still provide a nutritious and delicious snack or meal, variety is the spice of life! Here are five different types of hummus spreads and dips that everyone should try at least once:

  • Olive Hummus Dip: Some people may like olive tapenade as an hors d’oeuvre, but it may have too strong of a taste for some people. For those who want something more typically of a crudite dip for a party, a hummus using kalamata olives might be the perfect fit.
